#DIVERSIFYDESIGN2020 is a social project inspired by the AIGA's 2019 design census. In a field that encourages social innovation, the design industry is far behind in the decolonization of its own field. #DIVERSIFYDESIGN2020 is a visual representation of the significant data behind this lack of diversity in the design industry. #DIVERSIFYDESIGN2020 advocates for the decolonization of design in 2020 and for years to come.
*The following infographics are representational of a design population within the United States that partook in the AIGA's 2019 census (9,429 people). As we continue through 2020 hungry for innovation, design must also evolve for the better. These are not just numbers, categories, shapes and graphs, these are representations of real human beings and stories that the industry needs to hear. #DIVERSIFYDESIGN2020 is a visual demonstration of how exclusive a seemingly progressive industry may actually be.
